Penerapan Kegiatan Origami untuk Meningkatkan Koordinasi Motorik Halus Anak Usia Dini
Abstract
Fine motor development is a crucial aspect of early childhood growth, influencing physical abilities, cognitive skills, creativity, and social adaptation. However, many early childhood education (ECE) institutions have not provided optimal fine motor stimulation, resulting in a gap between children’s developmental needs and existing learning practices. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of origami activities as a creative learning method to enhance fine motor coordination in young children. A literature review approach was employed, using descriptive-analytical methods on secondary sources, including books, scholarly journals, and research reports related to origami, fine motor stimulation, and early childhood development. The findings indicate that origami can improve fine motor skills through precise manipulative movements, hand-eye coordination, accuracy, and concentration, while simultaneously fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social interaction. Implementation can follow systematic stages, including introduction to materials, teacher demonstration, guided step-by-step practice, and individualized support. Thus, origami serves as an effective and enjoyable learning medium that can bridge the fine motor stimulation gap in ECE, supporting optimal physical, cognitive, creative, and psychosocial development in children.
