Penggunaan Media Flashcard dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Mengenal Huruf pada Anak Usia Dini
Abstract
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using flashcard media in improving letter recognition skills in early childhood. The background of this study is based on the low ability of children to recognize letters, which is influenced by less varied learning methods and the suboptimal use of instructional media that align with children's developmental characteristics. This study employs a qualitative approach with a library research method, utilizing data sources from books, scientific journals, and relevant previous studies. The data analysis technique is conducted using a descriptive-qualitative approach through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that flashcard media is effective in enhancing letter recognition skills as it provides concrete and engaging visual stimulation and supports repetitive learning processes that strengthen children's memory. Furthermore, the use of flashcards increases student engagement and learning motivation through interactive and enjoyable activities. This media is also proven to be suitable for early childhood characteristics, as children learn best through direct experience, visual stimuli, and play-based activities. Therefore, the use of flashcard media can serve as an effective, innovative, and relevant instructional strategy in optimizing early childhood letter recognition skills.
